Sung Min Lee, DDS
Dr. Lee is the periodontist at our Carlstadt practice. She treats gum disease and receding gums, removes teeth that need surgery to come out, and places dental implants, including the bone grafts and sinus lifts that prepare the jaw for one. She trained in periodontics at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine after a general practice residency at Hackensack University Medical Center.

Dr. Lee treats gum disease, and she performs osseous surgery, which reshapes the bone around affected teeth. Our gum disease treatment also includes scaling and root planing, a deep cleaning below the gumline. She treats receding gums with gum grafting, and when a tooth needs more of its structure exposed before a crown, she does crown lengthening.
For dental implants, she places the implant and builds up the jaw when it needs more support, with bone grafting or a sinus lift in the upper jaw. Dr. Kim then restores the implant, and every step from the consultation to the final restoration happens in our office. Dr. Lee also does surgical extractions, including complex cases, and canine exposure, which uncovers an impacted canine so it can be guided into place.
